The ministry of Teen Challenge was founded in New York City in 1958 by the late Rev. David Wilkerson, author of The Cross and the Switchblade. Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas began in 1968 and now operates men’s campuses in Magnolia, Azle, Brenham, and San Antonio. There are also women’s campuses in Houston and San Antonio, a women and children’s program in Houston, an adolescent boy’s campus in Bastrop, a referral office in Austin, and Lifeline support groups in various cities across Texas. Lifeline Connection classes are designed to provide support for addicts, as well as friends and family members of addicts. Teen Challenge has proven to be the most effective program of its kind by four independent studies. These studies have shown that 70-86% of our graduates remain drug free after completing.

Our Christian, residential, work/study program admits men and women, 18 years and older (12-17 for adolescents), struggling with life-controlling addictions. Students are mentored by staff, complete curriculum that focuses on biblical solutions to life issues, and prepare for success after graduation through vocational opportunities. The program consists of 3 phases and is completed in 12 months, but many graduates remain for an additional seven-month internship or re-entry phase. Aside from a $1,500 induction fee, ATCOT is tuition-free and operates on funds received from student work, our 4 thrift stores, fundraising events, and outside donors.

Adult & Teen Challenge depends on community support: businesses, churches, and individuals all play a vital role in the students’ recovery. Would you consider partnering with ATCOT by sponsoring one of our future Golf Tournaments and/or contributing to our donations for this year’s Golf Tournament? See the attached sponsorship page for various levels of sponsorship opportunities that will make a difference in the lives of countless individuals at Teen Challenge and their families. ATCOT is accredited by Teen Challenge Intl, USA and as a 501(c)3, all donations to the organization are tax deductible.
